Recently Trimble Navigation has introduced the newest version of SketchUp i.e. SketchUp 2014 which has brought more advanced 3D modeling approach to execute BIM Modeling Services for Architects, Designers, Modelers, Engineers and other Construction professionals. SketchUp is a very useful 3D modeling software and its usage is increasing rapidly across the Architectural, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry for performing BIM Modeling Services.

Trimble Navigation statistics shows that last year over 30 million unique activation of Sketch Up have been done successfully for executing BIM Modeling Services. So, Sketch Up has now become most extensively used 3D modeling software across the globe. In the latest version of Sketch Up, the 3D Warehouse has been rebuilt completely and this latest version has also integrated some new as well as unique features like Infinite Scrolling, Integrated Web GL Viewer, etc.  This new version i.e. Sketch Up 2014 has brought a range of facilities for the users in performing 3D BIM Modeling Services in a more effective way.

A Revamped 3D Warehouse – The 3D warehouse of SketchUp is basically an online repository that assists users to find, store and share useful 3D BIM models and also allows them to upload 3D BIM models directly from the web browser.  Users can now easily find their desired 3D BIM models and save it within the repository in a very organized way. The new feature i.e. Integrated Web GL viewer of Sketch Up 2014 helps users in getting preview and making 3D orbit models before downloading these 3D models within the Sketch Up software. For performing BIM Modeling Services, users can now also upload models up to 50 megabytes size.

Integrating BIM – As per Trimble Navigation, SketchUp Pro now can communicate and exchange information more efficiently with other commonly used software’s and assists users to perform BIM Modeling Services accurately.  SketchUp Pro can now utilize the shared information more effectively than it has done before. The three new features i.e. IFC Export, Classifier and Component Options of Sketch Up 2014 version have added another direction into the world of BIM integrated design.

  • IFC Export – In BIM Modeling Services, the new IFC export feature of SketchUp helps users in exporting building information model to an *.ifc file through IFC exporter. For exporting the Type data successfully, users require to classify with the IFC 2*3 classifications.
  • Classifier – In SketchUp BIM Modeling Services, classifier feature assists users in enhancing their 3D BIM models with important metadata and increasing compatibility with other building information modeling software’s. Using this new tool, users can classify 3D BIM models with the pre-loaded IFC classification, use other types of classification and generate customized system for accomplishing their purposes successfully.
  • Component Options – Component Option in SketchUp provides editable options pertinent to a 3D model’s classified type and also helps users to manage the relevant data of each model’s component throughout the execution of BIM Modeling Services.

SketchUp also helps BIM users in creating precise sustainable building designs and developing highly effective 3D energy models by performing Building Information Modeling Services. One of the very important points regarding Sketch Up BIM Modeling Services is that is enables users to represent a building information model thoroughly.
