Revit\u2019s mechanism allows BIM modelers to develop new families that incorporate integrated family geometry only by inserting existing Revit families within other families. This technique is quite effective in saving time as users don\u2019t have to model a family from the starting point. For example, a combination light family can be created by BIM modelers only by nesting a light bulb within an existing light fixture family. In this case, modelers do not have to create a light fixture and a lamp from the beginning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Use nested components for creating a family<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For developing a family with nested elements in Revit, users should open an existing Revit family within which they want to insert another family.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once BIM modelers open a pertinent existing Revit family, they should then click the \u2018Insert tab\u2019 within the family editor. Once we click the Insert tab, they should then click \u2018Load from Library panel,\u2019 along with that consequently; they should select the \u201cLoad Family\u201d icon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If BIM modelers select relevant families that are already inserted within a family, then they should click \u2018Open.\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Once modelers choose relevant families, they are then required to click \u2018Create tab\u2019 after that \u2018Model panel,\u2019 and they should finally select \u2018Component.\u2019<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The component is selected by users so that they can choose the appropriate component type that they would like to nest.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>So in the \u2018Type Selector,\u2019 BIM modelers should select the component type that would be inserted by them in the family in question.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After this BIM modeler should click in the drawing area.
